STRYPER Performs BOSTON Classic With JEFF SCOTT SOTO; Video Footage Available
January 27, 2011Christian hard rockers STRYPER were joined by legendary hard rock vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (TALISMAN, JOURNEY, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) for a performance of the BOSTON classic "Peace Of Mind" at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California on January 15 during the winter NAMM show. You can now watch fan-filmed video footage of Soto's appearance below. STRYPER played its classics as well as some material from its upcoming covers album, "The Covering", which will be released on February 15.
STRYPER recently released its covers of BLACK SABBATH's "Heaven And Hell" and KANSAS' "Carry On Wayward Son" via iTunes.
STRYPER is preparing to enter the studio to start work on a new project as well as tour extensively throughout 2011-2012 in support of the "The Covering". The band also recently joined forces with Union Entertainment Group (NICKELBACK, HINDER, DEFAULT, CINDERELLA, MR. BIG).
"The Covering", produced by frontman Michael Sweet, is unlike any previous STRYPER recording in that it's a collection of cover songs from bands that inspired them and helped to shape their sound and musical identity, including hits from JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, LED ZEPPELIN, KANSAS and many others. "The Covering" also includes "God", a new original recording from STRYPER.
